The Bridgeport Fire Protection District has served the Bridgeport Valley and surrounding Eastern Sierra communities for over four decades. Our all-volunteer team responds to structure fires, wildland fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, and hazardous materials incidents.
"The Bridgeport Valley sits at 6,800 feet in the Eastern Sierra Nevada — our volunteers respond to remote terrain, wildland fires, and year-round extreme conditions from scorching summers to sub-zero winters."
"Every time the tones drop, our volunteers leave their families and jobs to protect this community. That's not a duty — that's a calling."
Chief Nick Way leads the Bridgeport Fire Protection District with hands-on dedication. As both chief and active responder, he exemplifies the volunteer spirit that keeps our community safe — balancing department operations, training standards, and mutual aid coordination across the Eastern Sierra.
